Brooklyn Trail Builders
The Brooklyn Trail Building efforts are headed up by Craig Starnes, Kev O'Donnell, Christian Mueller, Garth Baker, Rob Lee and Andrew Jackson.
They are the team behind all the efforts in this area including Transient, Car Parts, Barking Emu, Highbury Fling, Car Parts Extension, Windmill and Serendipity – all up 15kms of tracks. The recently completed Clinical Track in Polhill Reserve now allows for a 7 km loop on Grade 3 track. Also on the cards is a dedicated descending track to compliment Transient and another to the south coast. Along with trail building and maintenance they have also been working on the planting of native trees and rubbish/invasive weed removal in the area.
BTB supports and admires the work carried out by the good folk at the Polhill Restoration Project, and the Aro Street based Garage Project brewery. BTB’s work would not be possible without the support and assistance from Wellington City Council, Ground Effect, Wellington Marathon Clinic, Transpower, Placemakers, and, of course, all the fantastic volunteers (including numerous corporate groups) who spare their time and energy helping build and maintain the trails. A true community effort!
